Abstract [en]
E-banking, or electronic banking, has revolutionized the financial sector by offering convenient, efficient, and accessible banking services to customers around the globe. However, as e-banking systems have expanded, they have also become increasingly complex, giving rise to a range of issues and challenges that affect both consumers and financial institutions. This case study explores the critical issues and challenges inherent in e-banking, including cybersecurity threats, technological limitations, regulatory compliance, user adoption barriers, and data privacy concerns. The study highlights how these challenges impact customer trust, operational efficiency, and the overall growth of the banking sector. It also examines real-world examples from financial institutions to illustrate the vulnerabilities and responses to these challenges. © 2026 selection and editorial matter, Gururaj H L, B Ramesh, Chandrika J and Hong Lin; individual chapters, the contributors.
