Ambidextist voice leadership : Leading innovation and creativity in innovation processes (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of the study is to investigate how leadership in practice can promote creativity and innovation that strengthens employees' innovation ability. This is a qualitative study with an abductive approach, to collect data the approach has been semi-structured interviews that have then been processed with a thematic analysis. The study shows that innovation leadership needs flexible and situation-adapted leadership behavior. Ambidextrous leadership is highlighted as an effective model for handling the complex and constantly changing situations in innovation processes. Creativity is seen as a fundamental prerequisite for innovation, and a supportive environment with psychological safety, freedom and diversity is important. Leadership should be open and permissive in the creative phase, while in the implementation phase it needs to be more structured and goal-oriented. If there is an inability to switch between these styles, it can lead to lost ideas and reduced commitment. Ambidextrous leadership addresses the varying needs that arise in different phases of the innovation process.
