2024 (English) Report (Other academic)
Abstract [en]
The PLUG (Praktikbaserad LärarUtbildning i Grundlärarprogrammen) project set out to investigate and develop the content (in the form of core practices) and pedagogies (in the form of practice-based approaches (P), of the primary school (G) teacher education (LU), at Mälardalen University. It was envisioned to include three phases: (i) literature review to identify core practices and teacher education pedagogies described in previous research, (ii) development of a model for introducing practice-based teacher education gradually at MDU and development of some courses, (iii) implementation of the model and further development of courses. Phase I has been completed and will be reported on below. Phase II, which was initiated in January 2024, has evolved into the identification of core practices that are both highly relevant and feasible to work with, and as far as possible adhere to existing models for practice-based teacher education in the teaching of these core practices.
