The Communication of Human Accounts: Examining models of sensegiving2009In: Human Resource Costing and Accounting, ISSN 1401-338X, Vol. 13, no 2, p. 163-179Article in journal (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    Abstract:

Purpose – The purpose of the paper is to reflect on how sensegiving cues are encapsulated in models of reporting for human resources. This has been by investigating elements, arguments and formats of the models.

Design/methodology/approach – This paper focuses on the three discourses of human resource reporting that Jan-Erik Gröjer is a part of. This paper is an appreciation of the importance of Jan-Erik's work in the field of human resource communication as well as an illustration of how ideas and models changes over time.

Findings – The paper concludes that: there is no coherent idea of how sensegiving should be made in order to affect the sensemaking processes of human resources, the models emanate from different forms of critiques and the sensegiving cues change accordingly, and accounting for human resources has an ethical dimension.

Practical implications – The choice of model for reporting on human resources affects not only the content of the human resource report (the what and how question), but also affected by which arguments are considered as most efficient in the sensegiving process.

Originality/value – The paper contributes to the understanding of how sensemaking is dependent on which sensegiving cues bring forward in the accounts of human accounts.

    Abstract [en]

    Abstract

This diploma work is performed in cooperation with Componenta Wirsbo AB. Componenta are a company specialized in forging parts for the vehicle industry. The company uses drop forging where the material is moulded through hammering by two separated tools. Forged material has very good tensile properties and a very homogenous structure. The environmental goal for the company is to reduce their heating energy with 5%. Componenta are also involved in a Lean project to obtain a more continuous production. The suggested heat recycling system will also shorten the cooling time for the products and thereby contribute to a more non-stop production. The goal of this diploma work is to dimension a system for heat recycling of the cooling water from the forged details. The heated water can then be used for hot water and heating.

For dimensioning the system practically testing was performed. In these test's baskets with forged details was dipped in water and the temperature changes on the details and the water was measured. The results from these testes showed that it is possible to extract approximately 65 kWh of energy from each basket. With heat recycling of the details from the mechanical press it is possible to cover the total need of hot water for the company. If the Componenta decides to heat recycle the total production it is possible to cover the hot water need and about 50 % of the heating. The practical testing showed that the baskets needed about 4 – 6 minutes in the water to obtain the desired cooling effect. The pump and the heat exchanger are dimensioned for a flow of 2-9 kg/s.

The payoff time for this investment has been calculated. If the company heat recycles the details from the mechanical press the payoff time will be approximately 20 months. Heat recycling of the whole productions will reduce the payoff time too approximately 7 months.

Val av revisor: Vad revisorer kan tänka på vid marknadsföring av sin tjänster till mindre aktiebolag2010Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Slopad revisionsplikt=ökad ekonomisk brottslighet?2009Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

i stället bli frivillig.

     revisionsplikt.

Is there a January Effect on the Swedish Krona? An evaluation based on some economic determinanta2011Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 15 credits / 22,5 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The goal of this study is to search for the January anomaly based on some economic theories and determining factors. By anomaly, we refer to any strange, unusual, or unique occurrence which deviates from established trends or economic principles. These economic theories attempt to explain the equilibrium and disequilibrium in the foreign exchange market. We aim at gauging when the SEK is likely to be misaligned and if an identified anomaly is evidence of a stable and long running phenomenon which an investment strategy could be based on, or whether it is just a short-term unique mispricing which will disappear in the long term. The research questions for this paper include:

What factors account for fluctuations in the Swedish Krona?

Is there evidence of a January effect in the Swedish Krona?

These questions will be evaluated based on the results of our computations on MS excel. Multiple regression analysis will be used to determine the level of significance for the monthly dummy variables. The exchange rates used in this paper include the SEK/€ and the SEK/$.

Samhällsorientering på vems-vilkas villkor?  : En diskursanalys av konstruktionen nyanlända invandrare2013Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Corporate Entrepreneurship: Is it a solution for the automative crisis?2009Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 15 credits / 22,5 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The global financial crisis of 2008-2009 that the world economy is passing through has a major effect on the automotive industry in particular. The impact of the international financial market crisis on the automotive industry is dramatic.  The global unit sales of cars has decreased by approximately 5%, the biggest drop in nearly 30 years, and a significant sharp drop in demand in the volume in all market. Daimler AG with no exception along with all the big players in the automotive sector is faced with critical strategic dilemmas to deal with the current automotive crisis resulting from the global financial crisis.

The main purpose of this thesis is to study Daimler AG Company entrepreneurial activities and practices that can help establishing Corporate Entrepreneurship in the organization. It aims to identify the models used by Daimler for maintaining or even creating the corporate entrepreneurship. It will be concentrating of certain aspects of CE mainly related to leadership, culture, structure, and strategy of Daimler AG. We also aim to understand if Corporate Entrepreneurship is a solution for Daimler AG to survive in this automotive crisis.

Qualitative method is used in our study in order to evaluate and test our research questions. Qualitative method in this research will aim to collect both primary data through semi-structured interview, and secondary data related with Daimler and corporate entrepreneurship which is obtained through Daimler website and relevant reports, academic journals, university database, books and relevant websites.

Therefore, is corporate entrepreneurship (CE) a solution for the automotive crisis? We conclude that Daimler is applying a strategy based on creating a high entrepreneurial environment within their organization. The current performance measures show that Daimler is improving and in a better situation than many other automotive manufacturers.  However, we believe that corporate entrepreneurship (CE) by itself is insufficient for MNCs like Daimler to survive the current crisis. Nonetheless, CE is a crucial supporting factor that is needed for an organization to survive in an extreme business environment, where constant innovation and further development is always needed to sustain future growth.

Konsumentbeteendet på Mobiltelefonmarknaden: En studie om applikationsanvändandet2010Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

This thesis is a study about the consumer behavior on the cellular telephone market regarding the usage of applications that can be downloaded and used on the cellular telephone. An application is a program or a service that contributes new functions to the cellular telephone. The purpose and main question of the thesis is to describe how different theory parts of the Consumer Wheel form the typical application user. The theoretical frame of reference was an adapted form of Peter & Olsons (2008) Wheel of consumer analysis, a theory framework used to describe the consumer behavior. The Consumer Wheel consist of three parts; affect and cognition, consumer environment and behavior.

A quantitative study was carried out through a web-based survey to collect the necessary data for the thesis. The survey was distributed through internet forums and social networks to get as large spread of the survey as possible.

In the analyze part of the thesis the result is discussed with the Consumer Wheel. Involvement seem to have a large meaning on how applications are used and that the different parts of the Consumer Wheel are influenced by the level of involvement. In the conclusion part the typical application user is presented as a 25 year old male and he is a high involvement application user. Future studies should focus on how companies can market applications and studies on why application users behave as they do.

Treatment of a mantle cell lymphoma cell line with cannabinoids and cytostatics: - effects on DNA synthesis and ceramide metabolism2009Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is an aggressive B-cell malignancy with bad prognosis, which predominates in males with advanced age. However, studies of the endocannabinoid system and how it affects tumour behaviour provides the basis for designing innovative therapeutic strategies that could open new opportunities for treatment of patient with MCL. It has earlier been shown that the cannabinoid receptor ligand (R)-(+)-methanandamide (R-MA) induce cell death in MCL by accumulation of ceramide. Ceramide has a pro-apoptotic effect on the cell but could be metabolized by the enzymes glucosylceramide synthase (GCS) and sphingosine kinase 1 (SphK1) to molecules with pro-proliferative effect. Therefore, treatments with R-MA on Jeko-1 MCL cell line were performed in this study to determine interference in the proliferative behaviour as well as in the gene expression of the enzymes GCS and SphK1. In addition, treatments with chemotherapeutic substances, such as doxorubicin or cytarabine (Ara-C), and combinations of R-MA and chemotherapeutic substance, were performed for the same reason. Results showed that the proliferation behaviour of Jeko cells remained unaffected when treated with R-MA, in contrast to the decreased proliferative effects shown when treated with cytostatics or combinations of R-MA and cytostatics. Furthermore, a tendency for up-regulation of GCS and SphK1 expression was recognized when cells were treated with cytostatics or combination of cytostatics and R-MA, in contrast to cells treated with R-MA alone. Although, R-MA alone had a tendency for a small down-regulation of GCS expression, it contributed to a potential elevation of GCS expression when combined with Ara-C or doxorubicin. It is believed that the effect from upregulated levels of the metabolizing enzymes GCS and SphK1 is balanced by, earlier observed, up-regulations of the ceramide synthesis enzymes.

    Abstract [en]

Currently, the energy issues brought a lot of interest in the community. Now is the focus more on building energy-efficient houses. A significant factor influencing energy consumption in our buildings is thermal bridges. They occur when a material with poor thermal insulation breaks through a material with better insulation. In practice it is often not possible to avoid thermal bridges completely, but there are many different options to reduce the thermal bridge effect significantly. This is desirable in order to achieve lower energy costs because thermal bridges can lead to a significant increase in the heat losses. The limitation of this degree project is evident from the title Thermal bridges impact on the insulation properties of sandwich panels, the connection between the windows and external walls

The primary means used to achieve the results is the HEAT2 PC-program, but literature studies were also used. HEAT2 is a two-dimensional heat flow program that calculates the amount of energy passed through the part of the construction. It is based on the allocation of the construction into a mesh, i.e. a grid. The more the mesh is divided into the more accurate the results, but the calculations are at the same time more time consuming to perform.

A separate analysis was done with and without the draining protective plastic in the window's top edge where the material is passing through the thermal insulation at the concrete heel. The plastic has many orders of magnitude higher thermal conductivity than the thermal insulation, but it is only 1 mm thick. The calculation results show that the plastic caused a significant difference.

    Abstract [en]

This diploma work is about the comparison between the prefabricated and on-site mixed concrete frames for Cleopatra that is a multi-residential building in Västerås, Sweden. Prefabricated and on-site mixed concrete structures are two methods used in the construction of new buildings.

Due to lack of time after procurement of project contractors usually do not have time to make a detailed study for the selection of frames. In such cases they select a frame that has been chosen for previous projects with the lowest price that takes into account the client's budget for the project. The comparison is made between the prefabricated structure and the current structure which is on-site mixed with concrete and prefabricated concrete columns and concrete stairs for kv.  Kleopatra. It is very time-efficient in the current situation to make use of prefabricated pillars and cement stairs. Pillars and beams are chosen to be made on-site moulded because there is a very few and due to that it is more expensive to buy these as prefabricated. The extra cost will be when the prefabricated factory use specific forms for those parts which are then discarded and the cost of these forms is then allocated on number of pillars and beams. On-site moulded structures are being built at the workplace and in need of reinforcement, forming, stamping, bending back, ready-mix concrete, crane, equipment for drying, calendaring, glazing and conservation. Prefab structures are built at the factory and transported to the construction site, and then they have a need for the crane, ready-mix concrete, reinforcement for floor plate and calendaring, glazing for these. The choice between the prefabricated and on-site mixed frame for kv. Kleopatra affects the environment, working environment, quality and timing and costs differently. These points are investigated and compared for the quarter. Kleopatra and the results we have arrived at through various methods, including interviews, surveys, literature studies and further research we have done. We have come to different conclusions for the work environment, quality, environment, timeschedule and costs.

    Abstract [en]

In this study, the effects of antagonists to the cannabinoid receptors in MCL cell lines were studied. Results presented in this study show that signalling through cannabinoid receptor with antagonists such as SR141716, SR144528 decreases cell viability but hemopressin when analyzing with XTT. The decrease in cell viability by SR141716 is caused by apoptosis triggered after 5 hours of treatment. The CB1 expression was confirmed in all MCL cell lines tested via western blotting but the expression of CB2 and GPR55 – another receptor to which SR141716 has affinity - was not confirmed due to lack of reliable antibodies. Specific agonist to GPR55 – LPI (l-α-lysophosphatidylinositol) showed different response compared to SR141716 which suggests that the effect seen by SR141716 was not induced through GPR55. The effect induced by CB1/CB2 agonist AEA is shown to be neither through CB1 or CB2 alone but possibly on another receptor yet to be described.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY  COMMUNICATION from a NETWORK PERSPECTIVE: A Case Study of Peab AB2012Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Problem Description: Since there are recognized similarities in the construction industry between relationship building and strategic CSR engaging thus managing and communicating CSR should be evaluated from the industrial network perspective. Close interaction between stakeholders and implemented strategic CSR facilitate to perform successfully and remain competitive when facing challenges in modern construction industry. Peab AB was chosen for the research as one of the leading construction companies in the Nordic region that recently redefined its CSR strategy and now delivering and sharing the vision through entire established network.

Purpose of the research: Sustainable development has become part of the business plans for Swedish construction companies. Therefore it is relevant to research implementation of sustainable dynamics in the Peab’s vision by analyzing their strategic CSR process and how it is communicated to their key stakeholders within complex industrial network.

    Research questions:

How is sustainability vision and strategic CSR communicated through Peab’s business relationships within its industrial network?

      • How does the company communicate its CSR strategy within the industrial network?
      • How does the company handle its CSR issues within long-term relationships?

Methods: In this thesis qualitative research method with deductive approach has been used. The empirical findings contain primary data such as interviews with the management of the Peab Group, Peab Grundläggning, Swerock and Leimet. The secondary data sources were academical journals, books, Peab website and its corporate policy, annual & sustainability reports.

Conclusion: By combining traditional industrial marketing theories together with the modern strategic CSR communication, it has been concluded that the sustainability vision and strategic CSR engaged and communicated to the stakeholders through Peab’s industrial network have process kind of nature.  Even though sustainability vision helps Peab to remain successful and competitive in the long run their performance in the industrial network depends highly on close cooperation with the stakeholders. Close interaction and committed relations with partners is one of the ways of handling sustainability aspects in the construction industry.

The effects of immigration on unemployment: A case study of Sweden and the UK2012Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Problem: The creation of the European Union gave people the right of free movement between the membership countries. In theory, the creation of a single market should create many additional employment and earning opportunities for the workers in the member states of the EU (Bauer & Zammermann, 1999 cited at Borjas, 2010). Some natives believe that an increase in immigration will post a threat to them. They believe that their wages will go down and jobs will be taken from them. Is this true or is it just a sign of xenophobia?

Purpose of the Research: The purpose of this study was to replicate successfully the study: “Examining the Relationship between Immigration and Unemployment Using National Insurance Number Registration Data” by Lucchino, P., Rosazza – Bondibene, C., and Portes, J. from 2012. Then the same research methods were used in Swedish data analysis.

Methods: Data on unemployment and immigration was collected from Sweden and the UK and multiple regressions were run using the STATA11 software.

Conclusion: The immigration rate had no significant affect on the unemployment rate both in the UK and Sweden. However, adding a one year lagged immigration rate was found to be significant at a 5% significance level in the Swedish analysis, but was insignificant in the UK analysis. The control variables for labor supply proved to be insignificant in the analysis of both countries.

Investeringskalkylering: en kartläggning och analys av kalkyleringsarbetet på Volvo Construction Equipment2011Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Problems: How does Volvos CE: s four Swedish plants work with investment appraisals? Does the work differ between the plants? If differences exist, what can be improved in order to make the work more uniform?

Purpose: To map the work with investment appraisals at Volvo CE: s four Swedish plats, to analyze differences in work between the plants and give proposals to a more homogenous working.

Method: A method of qualitative nature. The study mainly contains raw data from semi structured interviews. Secondary data, such as internal policy documents and documentation of completed investment projects, has supplemented the raw data.

Analysis: The mapping shows significant differences in work with investments between Volvo CE: s Swedish plants. A big difference between the plants is the extent of which they use investment appraisals in the investment process. Common to all plants are the deficiencies in establishing post calculations.

Conclusions: Study proposals for improvements that will lead to a more homogenous work include that project managers at each plant in the future should work for a common project model. Proposals also include that a Business Case containing a common calculation template with investment calculations shall be made in the investment projects. Post calculations are also recommended at projects which a Business Case has been made. The post calculations will allow a comparison between forecast and outcome. Finally, it is proposed that an investment council with representatives from each plant is formed.

    Abstract [sv]

The purpose of this essay is to illuminate how recruiters within the private sector look at motherhood before recruiting. The questions at issue in this study deal with how recruiters look at motherhood when they are about to recruit, what effect motherhood has when it comes to hiring and the recruiters image of the ideal worker. The empirical material contains five interviews with recruiters that work with recruiting within the private sector. The study showed that mothers are viewed as the primary caretaker of children. Because of economical factors such as men considers to have a higher salary compare women, and also traditional gender roles in the Swedish society considers to being a contributing factor.

Leader-Member Exchange och relationsaspekters betydelse ur säljmedarbetres perspektiv2012Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Title: Tenant–owner´s association – The art to achieve economic

    stability

Problem: The tenant–owner homes market have achieved an extensive growth and it is very important for the tenant–owner´s association to carefully plan for the future economy. In order to maintain and strengthen its confidence towards the market and not go bankrupt.

Purpose: The purpose is to describe the reorganization process from a rented apartment to a tenant-ownership and to examine what a tenant–owner´s association should take into consideration in order to achieve economic stability.

Method: In this thesis a qualitative method has been applied. The method was chosen since the target group for this thesis is relatively small. The authors have chosen to interview board members in two different tenant-owner associations and a representative from SBC who has experienced current reorganizations and economic plans.

Conclusion: At least 2/3 of the tenants in the real estate must go together in a tenant-owner´s association, in order to undergo a reorganizations process and finally become real–estate owner. Important factors that an association should take into considerations are the costs of maintenance, repairs and interests. The association functions as an organization and needs to be characterized by the driving forces competence, innovation and effectiveness in order to achieve economic stability. The time for the planning of the economy and the knowledge from a tenant owner homes organization is also important.

Vilka motivationsfaktorer är det som ligger bakom toppsäljares framgång?2012Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 80 credits / 120 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Combining the Benefits of Traditional Commerce and E-Commerce with M-Commerce benefits in the Retail Industry2011Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 15 credits / 22,5 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The convergence of traditional and electronic commerce practices is being driven by the need for businesses to keep up with the ever increasing competition of online retailing. This thesis aims to examine and analyze the possible benefits that may arise via the use and development of rapidly evolving mobile technology, through analyzing the benefits of each of the forms of commerce during outlined stages of retail process, in order to evaluate to what extend the benefits can be combined. The benefits of each form of commerce were studied by observing existing theories and validated as perceived benefits through consumer surveys and management interviews. The theoretical part of this thesis is based on academic literature in the subject of Traditional commerce, Electronic commerce and Mobile commerce. The empirical studies were conducted as both qualitative and quantitative research, with a consumer survey conducted with 350 students, as well as two interviews with managers of retail stores in Västerås, Sweden. Results of the analysis shows that Mobile commerce has a role to play in better combining the benefits of traditional and electronic commerce and results in a combined figure implementing the findings into a working model, which we have dubbed ‘the four I’s of commerce’. The results are aimed at aiding retail managers in determining whether or not to implement a revised business model including the aspect of mobile commerce.

Conceptualizing entrepreneurship in music: A project-based view of entrepreneurship in high art music performance2008Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Magister), 10 points / 15 hpStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The concept of entrepreneurship in research and society has been firmly rooted in the realm of economics and business. This narrow focus excludes a large number of entrepreneurial acts that occur outside of economic contexts. The discipline of high art music performance is rich with innovative acts that challenge the boundaries of conventional practices. However, these acts largely go unnoticed because of the strength of the bond between entrepreneurship and economics. In this research paper, a literature review will be used to examine how entrepreneurship can best be conceptualized in the discipline of high art music performance. It is argued here that a project-based view of entrepreneurship (Lindgren & Packendorff 2003) provides a valuable conceptualization to understand entrepreneurship in high art music performance. This conceptualization is then applied to three case studies of Canadian high art music performers. The case study uses the musicians' narrative accounts to provide illustrations of the project-based nature of entrepreneurship in music performance. It is hoped that the findings from this investigation provides further support for a project-based view of entrepreneurship and a starting ground to develop more effective tools to support and develop entrepreneurship in music through education and policy development.

Purpose: The aim of our project is to see the potential of Switch Pac’s oxo-biodegradable plastic bags on the Swedish market by capitalize on green attitudes and behaviour.

Method: The report is based on primary data collected through questionnaires (end consumer/ B2B customers). For the investigation of Switch Pac’s macro- and microenvironment secondary data was used (books, journals, newspaper and the Internet)

Conceptual Framework: The conceptual framework consists of certain models to investigate the following topics:

    Consumer behavior

    AIDA-Model

    STP-Model

    Switch Pac´s business environment

    PESTEL

Conclusion/ Recommendations: In our conclusion based on our frameworks PESTEL, AIDA and STP we concluded that peoples’ awareness regarding environmental friendly plastic bags are not very high based on our questionnaire. The efficient ways for Switch Pac to increase potential demand is to target the customer in the age range from 20 – 49 years and cooperate with supermarkets and (department) stores. Furthermore, Switch Pac needs to position its products in the consumers mind through create brand awareness by using certain elements of the marketing mix model.

Barriär mot smärta: Äldre om mänskliga relationers inverkan på det subjektiva välbefinnandet2011Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 15 credits / 22,5 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Research indicates that there is a strong connection between social network and subjective well-being even among elderly. The aim of this survey was to map out in what way human relationships are considered creating subjective well-being. Seven participants, aged 75-88, were interviewed. This survey emphasized a bidirectional connection between health and relationships. Health, as both actual and perceived capacity, is not only a prerequisite for sustaining relationships but should also be looked upon as a result thereof. Furthermore, reciprocity appeared to be of great importance, meaning elderly people´s contributions to other people´s well-being as well as the feeling of what others do in order to increase their well-being. Findings also suggest that family makes up the top of the relationship hierarchy and that the elderly people´s aging had influenced their relationships positively. The survey highlights the importance of also considering elderly people´s health/well-being from a social point of view.

Soffpotatis eller elitidrottare: vilka attityder florerar kring mental träning?2010Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

Frihet eller krav: Kvinnors arbetsvillkor och strategier i gränslösa arbeten2012Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

Internprissättning inom offentlig verksamhet: En studie om Konsult och Service i Västerås stad2009Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 15 credits / 22,5 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Title: Transfer Pricing in a public organization - A Study of Konsult och Service in Västerås City

Research Issue: Konsult och Service is an administrative unit which provides support services to Västerås stad's units. In the present situation there is a change taking place in the internal IT pricing. The research issues of this master thesis are:

    • What kind of transfer pricing does Konsult och Service use and why?
    • Does Konsult och Service think their transfer pricing has reduced the waste of resources?
    • Does transfer pricing give a fair dividing of costs, according to Konsult och Service?
    • Why and how are Konsult och Service changing their transfer pricing?

Purpose: The purpose of this master thesis is to study Konsult och Service's transfer pricing and the ability to reduce waste of resources and create a fairer dividing of costs with transfer pricing. The purpose is as well to investigate the change in progress of Konsult och Service's internal IT pricing.

Method: The master thesis is built on a qualitative approach, with secondary information and on interviews made with three persons who we consider having good knowledge of transfer pricing.

Results and Conclusion: Konsult och Service uses cost price for the internal trading between units within the municipal organization. Needing to cover all their costs, they use cost price but have no claim to earnings. Transfer pricing increases the employer's awareness of costs which leads to reduced waste of resources. Transfer pricing renders the fairest dividing of costs possible, where the units who uses the service have to pay accordingly for it. At the moment the computer technology business center of Konsult och Service is undergoing a change in its services pricing. The purpose of the change is to make a fairer dividing of computer technology costs.
