    Background: As people grow older, the number of people suffering from dementia will increase. This will come to enhance the demands on the community who will care for these patients. In order to provide evident care, more research is needed that explains how dementia patients experiences the care given in order to adapt and improve for their care.

    Aim: To describe the experience of home-based patients being cared for in the early palliative phase of dementia.

    Method: A​qualitative systematic literature​review, used with descriptive synthesis.

    Result: The result is presented based on of two themes together with four subthemes. According to these themes, it appears that people with dementia appreciate the fellowship with other people suffering from dementia. They also ​appreciate the safety provided by healthcare professionals. Patients with dementia highly value various activities. The experiences of improved in health resources were constant throughout the result.

    Conclusion: By using this result, it hopefully would help to adapt the care of patients with dementia. It’s important that the community/society can support the care of people with dementia and their relatives, as the number of patients with dementia will increase in the future.
