Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The study deals with the extent to which students feel part of the school's equalitywork, and the extent to which students perceive the existence of discrimination ,harassment and offensive behavior in school. The aim is to identify students'perception of the school's equality work and the incidence of harassment in schoolenvironments. We have chosen a quantitative approach when we conducted aquestionnaire survey given out to a total of 101 students in fifth grade. The resultsshow that many students don’t have trust in all adults in school. More than half of thestudents are not aware of the equality plan and almost all students feel that they havenot been involved in the school’s equality work. Students are requesting moresupport from the adults by a larger adult presence because they see abusive behavioras a problem in school. This suggests that school’s need to develop their equality workfor all students to feel part of the work on equality and feel safe in school.
