Bakgrund

Dynamate Industrial Services (DIS) är en organisation som levererar tjänster till produktions- och tillverkningsindustrin. De arbetar inte uttalat med innovation men intresset och vetskapen om dess relevans för organisationens överlevnad i dagens ekonomiska samhälle ligger till grund för det här examensprojektet.

Problemformulering

Utmaningen är att identifiera och visa kopplingar till teorier om innovation och vilka konkurrensfördelar de ger. På så vis kan DIS uttalat utveckla innovationsarbetet och stå sig bättre på marknaden.

Syfte

Huvudsyftet med examensprojektet är att tydliggöra de interna processerna på DIS som potentiellt faller inom ramen för innovation och eventuellt ge förbättringsförslag kopplade till innovation. Syftet kopplat till lärandemålen är också att få kunskap och förståelse för innovativa processer och hur dessa tar sig uttryck i arbetslivet.

Metod

Det empiriska materialet i examensprojektet inhämtades genom en kreativ övning samt fem semistrukturerade intervjuer. Den empiriska informationen har därefter vägts mot den teori som selekterats och är av relevans för denna typ av studie. Detta för att kunna besvara studiens syfte samt forskningsfrågor.

Slutsatser

Vi anser att mycket i DIS ageranden stämmer väl in med hur valda teorier förespråkar att innovativa organisationer bör agera. Dock finns förbättringspotential, exempelvis i att uttalat ha en innovationsstrategi.

Background

Dynamate Industrial Services (DIS) is an organization that delivers services to the production- and manufacturing industry. They do not explicitly work with innovation but they do have the interest and knowledge about innovations importance for the organization. In the economic climate of today organizations survival depends on creativity and innovation. It is this that forms the foundation of this study.

Challenge

The challenge is to identify and show the connections to the theories about innovation and which competitive advantage it brings. Thus may DIS, pronounced, develop innovation work and gain competitive advantage on the market.

Purpose

The main purpose of the study is to clarify the internal processes of DIS that fall within the frames of innovation and if possible provide suggestions for improvement related to innovation. The purpose linked to the learning objectives is also to gain knowledge and understanding for innovative processes and how these manifests in a working environment.

Method

The empirical data consists of a creative exercise and five semi-structured interviews. The empirical information has therefore been weighed against the theories which were selected and is of relevance for this type of study. This is to answer the purpose of the study and research questions.

Conclusions

We believe that much of DIS approach agrees well with the chosen theories advocate that an innovative organization should act. However, there is potential for improvement, such as developing an innovation strategy.
