Abstract [sv]

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva hur en etablering i Tyskland kan gå till och undersöka vilka problem som kan uppstå. Vidare är syftet att ta fram en lathund som ska hjälpa företag med planeringen av sin etableringsprocess.

 

Metod: Uppsatsen har använt en fallstudie över etableringsprocessen mellan Tyskland och Sverige. Primärdata har samlats in genom kvalitativa intervjuer med respondenter kunniga om etableringsprocessen. Den teoretiska referensramen består av internationaliseringsprocessen, etableringshinder och kulturella skillnader. Ramen har använts för att kunna analysera uppsatsens empiri och dra slutsatser.

 

Slutsats: Uppsatsens slutsats är att Tyskland erbjuder en marknad med stor potential och det kan konstateras två sätt som är vanliga vid etablering i Tyskland. Det är antingen genom förvärv eller gradvis uppbyggnad av ett dotterbolag. För att lyckas med sin etablering bör företag tänka på att genomföra marknadsanalyser, utvärdera sin affärsidé ur tyska ögon samt att antigen rekrytera tillräcklig kompetens eller anlita konsulter. Det här för att undvika problem i form av byråkratiska myndigheter, skatteproblematik, bolagsregistrering och den heterogena marknaden som råder i Tyskland.

Abstract [en]

Purpose: The purpose with the essay is to investigate how a business establishment works and which problems that may arise. The goal is to present a checklist how to make a successful process of the establishment.

Methodology: This thesis has used a case study of the establishment process between Germany and Sweden. Primary data were collected through qualitative interviews with respondents knowledgeable about the establishment process. The theoretical framework consists of the internationalization process, entry barriers and cultural aspects. The framework has been used to analyze the empirical material.  

Conclusions: The essay concludes that Germany offers a market of great potential. It also concludes that two ways are commonly used when establishing companies in Germany. One is through acquisition another company and the other through gradual development of a subsidiary. To succeed in its establishment companies should conduct marketing analysis. They must also evaluate their business idea through German eyes and if the company lack knowledge they must recruit sufficient expertise or hire consults. This is to avoid problems in the form of bureaucratic authorities, tax issues, company registrations and the heterogeneous market that exists in Germany.
