ABSTRACT

The overall aim for this paper was to elucidate the nurse student lived experience in a

psychiatric care area. The paper is based on interviews of nurse students in their nursing

practise in psychiatric care area.

An interpretive phenomenological method was described and use to illuminate the meaning

of the phenomenon lived experience of caring. Lived experience appears as a balance between

an internal process, vicinity and sharp sensitive among the nurse students. This

comprehension throws lights on caring possibility to realize an entirety.

This paper shows through the result, meanings of the students. bodily presence to be around

in caring situations become an important to conduct one render possibility in balance whit in

vicinity and distance to patients suffering. Caring is not only a vicinity to our intellectual

process but also an emotional process to feel a bodily vicinity to caring in meeting whit in

human beings and the existence together in the world. The supervisor has an important part to

help the student to lived experiences in caring throw supervision and reflection conversations.

It is important to help the student to practise to listen beyond the pronounced and listen to the

patients. narratives into both body and soul. That who become lived experiences to the

students is that the key to caring is to take part off the patients suffering throw attentive his

internal process throw reflections, and there be aware of the power in vicinity and sharp

sensitive in the dialog with the patients.
