More than 190, 000 people in Sweden suffer from an eating disorder. Despite these fingures, the disease is shameful and difficult to interpret. There are many relatives who do not understand eating disorders and have difficulties in how to support their relatives who have fallen ill. This study focuses on older relatives and will have two main focuses. The first is to investigate wheter rhetoric with image and text in collaboration can in a design proposal increase the understaning of the disease and the second is to investigate whether this design proposal can then be used as a support guide in helping the elderly realtives in conversations with their relatives.
This study is based on theories in rhetotic, readability, narrative technique, theory of mind and image and text in collaboration and has been used to create a design proposal. In the study, the following methods have been used: interviews, a content analysis of 1177's information material and a focus group.
The design proposal is in the form of a brochure and has been tested on the target group.
