Abstract [sv]

Idag kännetecknas arbetsmarknaden som en sektor som upprätthåller diskriminerandestrukturer för invandrare. Det är ett välkänt problem och senare studier visar att även andra generationens invandrare missgynnas på arbetsmarknaden. Trots att de är födda i Sverige,flytande i språket samt att de har utfört sin högsta utbildning i Sverige. De som drabbas i störst utsträckning är individer med ursprung från Asien och Afrika. ”Så jag är svensk men jag är ändå inte svensk” är en uppsats som handlar om andra generationens invandrare på arbetsmarknaden. Syftet i denna studie är att skildra åtta individers syn på förutsättningarna i arbetslivet och etnisk diskriminering.

Abstract [en]

Sweden is a country which has had a changing history of immigration. During differentperiods, the labour market has faced major changes. Today, the labour market is characterized as a sector that maintains discriminatory structures for individuals of foreign descent. Ethnic discrimination is a well-known problem. What has been shown in recentstudies is that second-generation immigrants also are disadvantaged in the labour market. Born in Sweden, fluent in Swedish and with their highest education completed in Sweden,they still face discrimination. Most affected are individuals originating in Asia and Africa."So, I'm Swedish but yet not Swedish" is a thesis about second-generation immigrants in the labour market. The purpose of this study is to portray eight individuals' views on working conditions and ethnic discrimination.
