The purpose of this study was to gain an understanding of how social workers experience the handling of administrative processes in children who have been exposed to violence. Seven social secretaries from different municipalities were interviewed, the answers were after related to the theories children's perspective and room for maneuver. The main finding of the study was that the social secretaries perceived the processing processes as problematic as they were characterized by lack of time and various stressors. Although the Convention on the Rights of the Child is the starting point for the activities of social secretaries, they believe that sometimes it is not easy to fully follow there’s work, however, they emphasize that training on the subject is underway. Common to the social workers' experiences was that they considered it a wonderful job, however, experienced colleagues and more specific policies and directives are needed on how to handle different cases and how these should be interpreted in order to best see it from a children's perspectives.
