Abstract [sv]

Syftet med uppsatsen var att studera hur den ekokritiska tropen ”apokalyps” förekommer i nutida kinesisk science fiction. Tre verk har analyserats, Waste Tide av Chen Qiufan, Folding Beijing av Hao Jingfang och Remembrance of Earth’s Past av Liu Cixin. De olika verken har studerats retoriskt utifrån av mig valda aspekter av apokalypstropen; utopi/dystopi, överbefolkning/resursförbrukning och hot mot mänskligheten/undergång.

Analysen visar att samtliga verk faller inom tropen. De går att beskriva som exempel på tragiska apokalypser. Kinesiska författare inom science fiction har de senaste decennierna behandlat miljöfrågor i högre grad än tidigare generationer. De analyserade verken bekräftar denna utveckling.
