Abstract [en]
This report is focused on improving and streamlining a Final Quality Assurance line (FQA). The report was conducted between February 2016 and May 2016. From the studies that has been completed could several number of solutions and suggestions for improvement been identified to the problem.
The student has completed a literature review to examine previous research linked to the subject. By making a research of a literature review and a case study could the student be able to draw conclusions and answer the question that are presented in this report. The issues raised in this report was:
- Which kind of waste could be found in the FQA line?
- Is it possible to reduce certain of operations without affect the quality of the product?
- What measures are required to improve the efficiency of a FQA line?
The case study that has been made on the industrial company gave the student an insight on how the current process for the specific case that was going to be streamlined is working today. This has contributed a clear image that the student created to identify opportunities of efficiency that has been addressed in this report.
After all the theories, observations and interviews with the employees and the staff could an efficiency of 36.01% been achieved in the case of this report. The efficiency data is presented in the measurement part of the section 4.4 in the report.
Based on the studies the student could see that there is an optimization opportunity in quality assurance that is presented in the conclusion part. By applying the method that are explained in the theoretical framework of the section Lean tools, could a well efficiency be achieved and there are opportunities to achieve an even higher number than the number that the student could achieve today.
